PhD candidate working at UAM will mostly determine how macrophage-derived specialized proresolving mediators modulate cardiovascular damage in hypertension, with or without joint inflammation. The candidate should be a highly passionate researcher holding a master´s degree in biomedical sciences with demonstrated knowledge in physiology, biochemistry, statistics, immunology, and any other biology disciplines.
Bioinformatics capabilities are also very welcome. Candidate´s previous experience with animal models will be also valued. The candidate should have demonstrated previous lab experience, ideally, but not exclusively, in any field related with cardiovascular biology or joint diseases. The candidate should fulfil the mobility requirements of the program.
The candidate will receive extensive training in cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology in animal models. Also, the candidate will receive multidisciplinary training in biochemistry, immunology, lipidomic analysis, and bioinformatics, among other disciplines. This training will be mostly completed at UAM lab as well as in specific training activities within the HARPNET network. Several short-term secondments in international labs will be also performed.
