About this Project

This project will determine how synovial fibroblast-derived amyloid precursor protein and macrophage TREM2 signalling cooperate to restore joint structure and immune balance. The pathway will be investigated in genetically modified models and human synovial organoids.

Your profile and what you'll gain

Skills required

Background in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology or rheumatology; experience with primary cells, flow cytometry or molecular techniques; interest in myeloid-stromal interactions.

Skills acquired

Synovial organoids, macrophage and fibroblast biology, inducible genetic models, CRISPR-Cas9, single-cell ATAC sequencing, transcription-factor analysis and development of agonistic therapeutic strategies.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates should ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • have a MSc degree in Life Sciences or obtain a MSc degree by October 2026
  • have completed a research internship with relevant expertise
  • have obtained high grades during his/her studies
  • be fluent in English (some countries may also require language certifications – this will be communicated to applicants following shortlisting)
  • applicant must not have resided in the country of the recruiting organisation for more than 12 months preceding the recruitment date
