About this Project

This project will investigate how chronic arthritis alters the metabolism and function of cardiac macrophages, fibroblasts and endothelial cells before and after the development of cardiac dysfunction. It will also test whether metabolic intervention can prevent arthritis-associated cardiovascular damage.

Your profile and what you'll gain

Skills required

Background in immunology, cardiovascular biology, pharmacology, metabolism or molecular medicine; experience with flow cytometry, cell biology or experimental models is desirable.

Skills acquired

Cardiac immunology, mitochondrial and oxidative-stress assays, multiparameter flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, qPCR, metabolomics, lipidomics, experimental arthritis and translational analysis of patient samples.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates should ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • have a MSc degree in Life Sciences or obtain a MSc degree by October 2026
  • have completed a research internship with relevant expertise
  • have obtained high grades during his/her studies
  • be fluent in English (some countries may also require language certifications – this will be communicated to applicants following shortlisting)
  • applicant must not have resided in the country of the recruiting organisation for more than 12 months preceding the recruitment date.
