About this Project

This project will evaluate the anti-arthritic and cardioprotective effects of resomelagon, a clinical-stage melanocortin receptor agonist. It will identify the immune mechanisms and biomarkers associated with joint resolution, macrophage reprogramming and cardiovascular benefit.

Skills required

Background in pharmacology, immunology, clinical science, biotechnology or translational medicine; interest in drug development and the evaluation of clinical-stage therapeutics.

Skills acquired

Translational and clinical pharmacology, experimental arthritis and cardiovascular models, immune-cell trafficking, macrophage phenotyping, biomarker development, specialised pro-resolving mediator analysis, PK/PD concepts and biotechnology drug-development strategy.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates should ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • have a MSc degree in Life Sciences or obtain a MSc degree by October 2026
  • have completed a research internship with relevant expertise
  • have obtained high grades during his/her studies
  • be fluent in English (some countries may also require language certifications – this will be communicated to applicants following shortlisting)
  • applicant must not have resided in the country of the recruiting organisation for more than 12 months preceding the recruitment date.
