About this Project

This project will compare acute resolving and chronic non-resolving arthritis to identify the molecular pathways that determine whether joint inflammation terminates or persists. Candidate specialised pro-resolving mediator pathways will be validated in rheumatoid arthritis biopsies and experimental models.

Skills required

Background in immunology, pharmacology, inflammation biology or biomedical sciences; practical experience with cellular assays or experimental models; interest in translational and industrial research.

Skills acquired

Preclinical arthritis models, cytokine analysis, lipid-mediator profiling, transcriptomics, spatial biology, immune-cell phenotyping, human tissue validation and industrial drug-evaluation workflows.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates should ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • have a MSc degree in Life Sciences or obtain a MSc degree by October 2026
  • have completed a research internship with relevant expertise
  • have obtained high grades during his/her studies
  • be fluent in English (some countries may also require language certifications – this will be communicated to applicants following shortlisting)
  • applicant must not have resided in the country of the recruiting organisation for more than 12 months preceding the recruitment date
